Karl is a designer-maker skilled in a number of disciplines but at the moment, predominantly working in silver-smithery and jewellery-making. He likes to work organically, taking inspiration from the natural world and working with a variety of precious metals, mainly silver and copper, to create unique, handmade pieces.
Rooks & Roses, Karl’s jewellery brand, is predominantly inspired by nature. The range includes Dragonflies, Stags, Bees, Fungi, leaves, flowers and other natural forms. He is also inspired by Celtic design, and continues to work on new, similarly-inspired designs. Many of his pieces are made using recycled and upcycled materials. In his spare time, Karl enjoys hunting down materials that can be repurposed and given a new life as something beautiful.
